26th Annual Virginia Preservation Conference

Preservation Virginia is pleased to announce that it will partner once again with Virginia’s Department of Historic Resources (DHR) to host the 26th Annual Virginia Preservation Conference, Historic Preservation and Community Engagement: Saving Places That Matter, September 25-27, 2011 in Winchester. The conference will be held at the George Washington Hotel: 103 East Piccadilly Street.
The conference will highlight the values that historic places contribute to Virginia communities-from significant places that tell the story of our history to historic downtowns, rural districts and places of commerce, entrepreneurial and agricultural endeavors. Session topics will include a Social Media Panel: The Basics and How to Employ Resources, Best Practices; Advanced Preservation Law; The Huntsberry Farm at Third Winchester, An Adventure in Archaeology & History; Emerging Concepts in Cultural Landscape Conservation, and Building Strong Relationships with Local Communities.
The Virginia Preservation Conference brings a rich mix of professional preservationists, community leaders and historic home owners who believe that historic places contribute to the economic sustainablility of local communities.
