Victoria Sustainability Symposium
October 11-12, 2011 |
Historic preservation practitioners from around the globe will assemble to explore the technical issues associated with improving the sustainability performance of existing historic buildings. The end result will be a Sustainable Preservation Decision Making Matrix (Matrix).
Convened by the APT Technical Committee on Sustainable Preservation (TCSP), the Symposium will be a two-day working session to build on the technical expertise that is the strength of APT. Participants will participate in testing and improving the Matrix being developed by the TCSP.
This forum, which will also be a prime opportunity to exchange ideas and expertise with colleagues from around the world, is intended for people with a working knowledge of historic preservation and/or sustainability concepts. It will build on the connections of these two sectors and will develop the Matrix, a decision-making tool to guide practitioners through a series of complex decisions regarding the implementation of energy improvement measures to diverse historic building types in varied climates.
The Symposium will convene for the two days prior to the opening of the APT Victoria 2011 Conference.
