New Bedford Preservation Society's 37th Annual Meeting

The New Bedford Preservation Society's 37th Annual Meeting will be held on AHA! Night, Thursday, September 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum, 396 County Street, New Bedford.
After the brief business meeting, Bruce Barnes will present an illustrated lecture, "Mansions of the Textile Mill Men," at 7 p.m., to which the public is cordially invited.
New Bedford is widely admired for its outstanding architecture as a result of the wealth brought to the city by whaling. How did the owners and operators of the textile mills add to this architectural legacy? Learn where these "captains of industry" lived and how they enhanced the development of New Bedford's cityscape.
