Historic Structures Reports: A Management Tool for Historic Properties

Seminar Overview: The core of any historic property management program is accurate information about the building. This seminar will explore the historic structures report—the principal tool used to document a site's history, condition, and maintenance—and emerging technologies, such as computer-aided facilities management programs.This seminar is combined or offered in conjunction with Preservation Maintenance: Understanding and Preserving Historic Buildings.
Faculty: Alfonso A. Narvaez, principal, Aeon Preservation Services LLC, with experience on technical preservation projects nationwide; formerly principal architectural conservator with John Milner Associates, Inc. and historical architect with the National Park Service
Participants: Preservation architects; managers of historic properties and facilities; historians; others planning for or writing HSRs.
Continuing Education Credits: AIA members will receive 6 learning units each day for designated seminars that meet the criteria for programs in the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System.
Seminar Location, Hours, and Hotels: Confirmation of registration is sent out to registered participants one month prior to the seminar date. The confirmation includes the seminar location, hours, and a list of conveniently located hotels. Seminars generally are held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is recommended at least 6 weeks prior to the seminar to secure a place and to avoid cancellations due to low enrollment.

$600 (6-week advance registration); $650 (regular registration)
National Endowment for the Arts scholarships may be available through NPI for this seminar
