NAGPRA: Accessing and Utilizing the Databases
April 26, 2012 |
Seminar Overview: The National NAGPRA Program created a database of culturally unidentifiable inventories (CUI) of Native American human remains under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), pursuant to 43 CFR 10.10 (g). Compliance documentation—inventories and summary information—is available to the public, Indian tribes, museums, and federal agencies in the form of online databases. Using the databases, learn how to identify Indian tribes for consultations, evaluate the data supplied by museums and federal agencies, and explore ways the data can further NAGPRA compliance.
