A Capella Old & New: Caffe Lena and Universal Preservation Hall Bring An Afternoon of Singing to Sa
September 17, 2011 |
Caffe Lena, Saratoga's famed folk club, and the recently restored Universal Preservation Hall invite the community to enjoy an afternoon of a capella singing featuring the renowned Colgate Vintage Thirteen at Universal Preservation Hall on Washington Street in downtown Saratoga Springs.
Entitled "A Capella Old and New," the concert highlights the "old" Colgate Vintage Thirteen, with guest performances by the "new" Skidmore Drastic Measures and Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs A Capella chorus. Proceeds will benefit the "old" Caffe Lena, America's longest running folk music club, and the "new" Universal Preservation Hall, which is becoming known as Saratoga's finest full-size concert
hall. This event is a fundraiser for both non-profit venues organized by Vintage Thirteen member Alden "Joe" Doolittle of Scotia.
