John Hamilton Gillespie Celebration Week

The City of Sarasota has officially proclaimed October 24 -30, 2011 as "John Hamilton Gillespie Week" celebrating the Father of Sarasota and Golf.
The week-long party will have something for everyone to enjoy! A kick-off party on the bay front, trolley and wallking tours, a charity golf tournament, book signings, block party, bagpipers and more. Most events are free and no reservations required unless noted.
The events kick-off on Monday, the 24th with a party where Mr. Gillespie and the Scottish colonists first landed on Sarasota's shore. For details on all of the week's events visit: www.owenburns.com
