December 11, 2011

Get an exclusive inside look at some of the area’s most admired properties during the 2011 Candleligt House Tout hosted by the Historic Harrisburg Association and presented by Mid Penn Bank.

The 2011 Candlelight House Tour, sponsored by Mid Penn Bank, is set for 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2011. This year’s tour will include 13 historic residences and public properties throughout Harrisburg. In its 38th year, the Candlelight House Tour is a beautiful annual tour of the best-of-the-best properties in Harrisburg, all decorated for the holiday and winter seasons.

The 2011 Candlelight House Tour, entitled “Tour of the Towns”, offers an exclusive look into properties in Downtown, Midtown, Old Uptown and Uptown. Tour-goers will celebrate the City’s amazing historic architecture and beauty as they explore the visual wonders of North Front Street, including the King Mansion and the Governor’s Residence. A stunning display of City residences along Green Street will be dressed for the holidays, each showcasing the homeowner’s personal style and character. Rediscover Downtown on the tour of the Harris Tower and the newly renovated and restored Harrisburg Transportation Center.

This self-guided walking tour may require individual transportation between clusters of toured properties situated the area. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event at the Historic Harrisburg Resource Center located at 1230 North 3rd Street.
