Women Designers and Greeting Cards of the Arts & Crafts Movement

The rise of greeting cards in the early 20th century coincided with the heyday of the Arts and Crafts Movement, and women designers especially found new opportunities creating exquisite, hand-printed and illuminated cards. Scholar Anne Stewart O'Donnell explores the Arts and Crafts Movement through the experiences of several talented women, showing how their cards helped launch today's greeting card industry.
Anne Stewart O'Donnell, former editor of Style 1900, has written widely on the Arts and Crafts Movement, as well as on early greeting cards.
