Vi Bottaro’s Photographs and Workshops Featured at Napa Valley Museum
Yountville, CA -- Napa Valley: The People and the Landscapes featuring the work of artist Vi Bottaro is on display in the Napa Valley Museum’s Spotlight Gallery, November 22 , 2011- January 30, 2012.
Known for her photographic talents of exploring landscapes and use of light on landscapes, Bottaro works include an image of telephone poles captured after a winter snowfall, winery workers harvesting grapes at night, and views of the Mayacamas Mountains. Colorful views of winery workers at harvest tell a visual story of the Napa Valley’s largest industry.
Two programs are offered during the exhibition. “An Evening with the Artist: Vi Bottaro” will be held Friday, January 20 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Visitors can hear how Vi started her photography career and learn about the complicated process of capturing the perfect image. Cost of this program is $10 per person, free for Museum members. Reservations are required by calling (707) 944-0500.
“Exploring and Capturing Light on the Landscape”, a photography workshop with Vi Bottaro, Saturday, January 28 at 2 pm will give attendees the opportunity to learn how Vi uses light on the landscape to create her stunning photographs. Students will go outside to photograph the museum grounds and return to perfect their photographs. Photoshop software and a digital camera required for this workshop. Space is limited to 10 people and reservations are required. Cost of this program is $85 per person.
