The Grove Park Inn Arts & Crafts Conference

February 17-19, 2012

Just as the original Arts & Crafts movement relied on such magazines as The Craftsman and The Fra to spread the word, the present day revival has also benefited from a number of publications, including books, newsletters, web sites and periodicals. The Books, Magazines & More Show at the Arts & Crafts Conference features a number of magazines and book publishers, representatives from such historical sites as the Gamble House and Craftsman Farms, sellers of both old and new books and authors signing their works.

Attendees who register for the three-day Conference Pass either directly through Bruce Johnson's office, this web site or by reserving a room at the Grove Park Inn do not need to purchase a separate ticket to any of the conference shows, including the Books, Magazines & More Show.

The general public may purchase a ticket at the door for $10 that includes entry to the Antiques Show, the Contemporary Craftsfirms Show and the Books, Magazines & More Show for all three days. Tickets for high school and college students are $5. There is no charge for children under the age of 14. Due to the crowded aisles, strollers must be checked at the ticket booth.

Hours for the Books, Magazines & More Show are Friday from 1:00pm until 6:00pm; Saturday from Noon until 6:00pm; and Sunday from 11:00am until 4:00pm.

An exhibitor application can be found on this web site.

Among the firms who will be exhibiting at the Arts & Crafts Conference are the following:

Style 1900 Magazine
American Bungalow
Parchment Press
Turn-of-the-Century
Old House Journal
Roycroft Foundation
American Art Pottery Association
Craftsman Farms
Southern Highland Crafts Guild

Jane Powell, author
Arts & Crafts Press
Roycroft Campus Corporation

Be sure to visit Style 1900's booth in the Books, Magazines & More show for back issues, the latest Arts & Crafts news and subscription information!

Style 1900 will be featuring Beverly Brandt's latest book The Craftsman and The Critic: Defining Usefulness and Beauty in Arts & Crafts-Era Boston.  Be sure to stop by the Style 1900 booth to have your copy signed and to speak with Beverly herself!
