PTN is proud to announce that the 10th Anniversary International Preservation Trades Workshop will be held in partnership with the National Park Service Historic Preservation Training Center (HPTC) at the historic Jenkins Cannery. By co-sponsoring the 1st IPTW in 1997, HPTC played a critical role in the birth and development of PTN, and has been a strong partner in the PTN's subsequent growth. This joint event will give the preservation trades community an opportunity to honor another significant milestone - the 30th Anniversary of the Historic Preservation Training Center. Make plans now to attend what promises to be a very special celebration of homecoming, and the vitality of the traditional trades.
Become a demonstrator or presenter at IPTW 2007. Share your skills and knowledge and increase your visibility as a leader in the preservation trades.
In addition to the demonstrations, presentations and "hands on" sessions that have been a feature of every previous IPTW, we are planning some new and exciting offerings including a Preservation Trades Jobs Fair and other events to be announced. Highlights of this IPTW will include the presentation of the 2007 Askins Achievement Award, the annual IPTW auction, music and social events.
Those who attended IPTW 1997, will especially impressed by the many cultural, civic and revitalization projects in Frederick over the last 10 years. Within a short distance of the IPTW venue are the Community Bridge Mural, an Award-winning trompe l'oeil mural at the Carroll Street Bridge, the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, a non-profit arts education facility housed in a rehabilitated mill building, and a lively historic district. The Frederick Official Tourism Website has a complete listing of places and events, along with an excellent interactive map tool.
Mark your calendars and plan to join your friends for what promises to be the biggest and best IPTW yet! Check this website often for updates on events, schedules and registration information.
