Preservation of Wood Windows: Hands On Workshop
July 15-20, 2012 |
Since 2002, Pine Mountain Settlement School has offered hands-on field schools that emphasize practical preservation techniques that anyone should be able to master.
The Pine Mountain School for Practical Historic Preservation has brought some of the country’s most skilled traditional building instructors to southeast Kentucky. From these workshops, participants have gone on to conduct repairs on their homes, to work on important civic structures, and to help promote the idea that in most cases, repair rather than replacement is often the most desirable and cost-effective way to address common maintenance issues. All workshops are geared toward people of all skills levels and would be beneficial for homeowners, contractors, and managers of historic properties.
