Oakland Heritage Alliance 2012 Partners in Preservation Awards Ceremony

The Oakland Heritage Alliance (OHA) is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Partners in Preservation Awards. Each year, OHA honors individuals, organizations, agencies, institutions, projects and programs whose work demonstrates a commitment to excellence in historic preservation. In doing so, we hope to inspire others to take action to preserve, protect, and promote Oakland’s historic and cultural resources.
Award categories include: adaptive use/rehabilitation; education; sensitive new construction within a historic context; restoration; stewardship; advocacy and leadership; and lifetime achievement.

The deadline for submission is April 1, 2012. Awards will be announced in May, following jury review.
The 2012 Partners in Preservation Awards Ceremony will take place on June 14, 2012 at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, CA. The event, which begins at 7:00 p.m., will include a wine reception.
Past Partners In Preservation award-winning projects and stewards have included: Sensory Garden Lakeside Park, Floral Depot, East Bay Regional Park District, Temescal Branch Library, East 18th Street Pier, Oakland Fox Theater, Lake Merritt Boat House/Lake Chalet Restaurant, Piedmont Piano Company Building, Spice Monkey Restaurant, Bar Dogwood, Children’s Fairyland, USS Potomac, St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Mint Condition Homes, LLC, preservation advocates, and residential historic property owners, among others.
