Step Back in Time Historic Castle Green Spring Tour

April 22, 2012

We invite you on a unique adventure, the chance to explore this National Historic Monument at your leisure. Gates open at 1:00 p.m. and tickets will be sold until 5:00 giving guests a chance to see everything, including our Grand Salons, Ballroom, fully restored Penthouse as well as many of the Castle's private apartments.

You will encounter Victorian ladies and gentlemen guides who will be on hand to tell you all about the Castle's past, its present, and its hopes for the future. In the ballroom, the vintage Armory Band will play for an exhibition of Period Dancers while on the Veranda a light afternoon tea will be served. Here guests can watch a tableaux of 1920s picnickers on the front lawn and can even learn how to play croquet like a true Victorian.

The Castle Greenwas built in 1898, by Colonel George Green, utilizing the  prominent architect Frederick Roehrig and soon became the center of Southern California social activity that lasted through the 1920's.  Today, the Castle Green is a popular venue for weddings and parties, is listed on the National Register of Historic places and is a Pasadena City Treasure.
