“Settling the Cape Fear: 1662 – 1783” A lecture and tour presented by Dr. Chris Fonvielle, UNCW history professor and noted author. The series is offered by Bellamy Mansion Museum, Cape Fear Museum, Historical Society of the Lower Cape Fear and Historic Wilmington Foundation

Join this new group of our younger preservationists for 'Beer and Cookies' and networking at Old Books on Front 6-8:00pm, 249 N. Front Street in historic downtown.

Under the Kudzu 
Friday, May 18, 6:00 pm 
A documentary film & talk by filmmaker Claudia Stack. The story of two Pender County Rosenwald Schools and their students and teachers. The film was a Director’s Choice winner at the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival. Williston School Auditorium. Refreshments after the film.

Historic Wood Window and Painting for the Historic Building Workshop 
Saturday, May 19, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm 
Christopher Yermal of Old School Rebuilders, LLC will conduct a hands-on workshop about restoring & maintaining historic wood windows. Tom Blanch will present a painting demonstration for historic buildings. Join us at this historic site. Free. Site: Historic Tileston School, 412 Ann St. Call HWF to RSVP.

HWF Preservation Awards Ceremony 
Thursday, May 24, 6:30pm 
Awards to be presented for restoration, rehabilitation, compatible infill & adaptive reuse projects, Awards of Merit & the Brinkley Preservationist of the Year. Reception follows.

Guided walking tour of Wilmington’s First Streetcar Suburbs-Carolina Heights and Carolina Place
