Author / Preservationist Coming to Aunties Bookstore
July 14, 2012 |
Ron Tanner, author/preservationist, will give a talk and a slide show on Sat., July 14, 2:00 p.m.
Ron is a writer/preservationist from Baltimore on a 66-city national tour, offering a talk and slide show about how his then-girlfriend (now wife) and he took on a huge, wrecked fraternity house and -- knowing nothing about renovation -- brought it back to its 1897 Victorian splendor. Their work was featured in THIS OLD HOUSE magazine in 2008. He wrote a book about their experiences, FROM ANIMAL HOUSE TO OUR HOUSE: A LOVE STORY.
Here's the book trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx2nt7SRg58
Here is Ron's website: http://houselove.org -- great photos!
His talk is geared towards a wide audience -- expect to laugh! It's a great event to draw attention to preservation in Spokane. In this time of hunkering down, making do and working against formidable odds, FROM ANIMAL HOUSE TO OUR HOUSE: A LOVE STORY is an inspirational, heartfelt, and humorous story!
We hope to see you all there!
