2012 EAST TENNESSEE PRESERVATION CONFERENCE
Handcrafted in East Tennessee: Building Vibrant Communities
NOVEMBER 9 & 10 | ARROWMONT SCHOOL OF ARTS & CRAFTS
Spend 2 days at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts learning how to preserve and revitalize historic towns and buildings. This year's conference features sessions, workshops, and activities that will equip you with the tools you need to revitalize your community by using your cultrual assets. Many sessions will qualify as AIA continuing education credits.
Dr. Carroll Van West, Director of Middle Tennessee State University's Center for Historic Preservation, will kick off the conference on Friday morning.
Dr. Michael Tomlan directs the graduate program in Historic Preservation Planning and Cornell’s Clarence S. Stein Institute for Urban and Landscape Studies.
Other sessions will cover HandMade in America, the American College of the Building Arts, hands-on window workshop, a Friday night screening of "Picturing the Smokies," a tour of Elkmont in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and much more.
