Preservation Virginia's 27th Annual Virginia Preservation Conference is entitled Bridging the Gap: Connecting People and Resources to Preserve Virginia's Historic Places and will be held in Leesburg, Virginia, at various historic sites throughout the Historic Downtown. The conference will be September 23-25, 2012. Registration for the conference is $179.00 per attendee.
A pre-conference workshop entitled Architectural Review Board Training will be held on Sunday, September 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m and will be free for members of ARB boards.
The annual conference will feature interactive workshops, field sessions, break out sessions, walking tours, receptions, networking coffees, and plenary sessions. Topics include: Preservation Law, Preservation and Conservation Coalitions, Engaging Young Preservationists, Archaeological Ethics, Section 106, Preserving At-Risk Properties, and plenary sessions with Stephanie Meeks, President of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Cate Magennis Wyatt, Founder and President of The Journey Through Hallowed Ground. Field session include trips to Morven Park, the Unison Historic District and Waterford.
