Behind the Scenes: Historic Rushton

You won’t want to miss your chance to see Behind the Scenes of historic renovation at its best! We are excited to unveil the next chapter in the life of the Historic Rushton building. You may remember South Bend Heritage was awarded funding to renovate the 106 year old building into 23 apartments for seniors– here’s your opportunity to experience adaptive reuse in its earliest stages.
South Bend Heritage is partnering with the Historic Preservation Commission of St. Joseph County, and Indiana Landmarks to offer a behind the scenes pre-renovation tour. Made possible by funding from Indiana Humanities, tours will be lead by project managers and historic architecture experts. There are two opportunities to take part. A Student & Contractor concentrated tour will take place on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 3:00 p.m – 5:00 p.m. The second tour will be targeted towards the general public and will take place Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
