Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society Heritage Celebration

The Celebration will highlight the growth of Tuscaloosa, Alabama during the period between 1890 and 1910. Tuscaloosa is located on the Black Warrior River. The Celebration weekend will include a tour though Pinehurst with visits to some of its original homes. Pinehurst is the areas first incorporated neighborhood. Homes original to the neighborhood will be on display. Structures including businesses and churches throughout the city which were built between 1890 and 1910 and are still in use will also be open to visitors. Local Museums will feature displays of turn of the century transportation, football, clothing, business and commerce. Tuscaloosa went from a frontier town to the beginning of a modern city in this time frame.
