National Historic Preservation Act 40th Anniversary

October 15th, 2006 marks the 40th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). Because NHPA has been vital to instilling a preservation ethic across the United States, 2006 has been dedicated to celebrating and building greater awareness and support for this important legislation.
As part of this year-long celebration, the NHPA 40th Anniversary website will offer:
- A clearinghouse for information about NHPA
- A calendar of NHPA celebrations and initiatives across the country
- Information on the Preservation Celebration Across America
- Other state, regional, and national components as they are developed
We need your help to make NHPA's 40th anniversary a year of renewal and revitalization for historic preservation. Please send your celebration ideas, questions, and event dates to NHPA40@achp.gov, and be sure to check this site for more information as it develops. |
