Mother's Day Pink Tea at Ventfort Hall Mansion

May 11, 2013

LENOX, MA.  Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum is inviting mothers, grandmothers, children and grandchildren to a Victorian Pink Tea and Ballet celebration. The program will take place on Saturday, May 11, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. The event turns the weekend into a two-day holiday for mothers and a perfect outing for grandmothers, combined with the official Mothers Day on Sunday, May 12.

The ballet at the historic house in Lenox will be performed by the American Dance Institute Ensemble of Pittsfield directed by Sharon MacDonald and the Albany Berkshire Junior Ballet Company and the Cantarella School of Dance directed by Deidre Duffin Swindlehurst. The ensembles will perform excerpts from classical ballet. The companies have appeared at Ventfort Hall before large and enthusiastic audiences of all ages in past years.

The highly popular Les Petites Dames de Mode (The Little Ladies of Fashion), 61 exquisite 29-inch mannequins dressed in period costume dating from 1855 to 1914, will be on view. The Museum Shop will also be open with many fantastic Victorian offerings. The Victorian Pink Tea will be offered with colorful refreshments and decorations.

Admission is $20 for non-members, $18 for members, $7 for children 5 to 17 and free for children 4 and younger. For reservations or further information call 413-637-3206. Ventfort Hall is located at 104 Walker Street in Lenox.

An Official Project of Save America’s Treasures sponsored by the White House, Ventfort Hall Mansion and Gilded Age Museum offers tours of the historic mansion, as well as lectures, concerts, teas, theater and other programs.  This elegant Jacobean-Revival Berkshire “cottage,” listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is open to the public year-around and is available for private rental. Built in 1893 for George and Sarah Morgan (sister of the financier, J. P. Morgan), Ventfort Hall has undergone substantial restoration, which continues.

Time: 3:30 – 5:30pm
Cost: $20 non-member; $18 member; $7 children 5 - 17
