Rosemary P Miller Lecture Series: The Art, Craft & History of Building in Stone @ Indiana University

May is National Preservation Month and the Monroe County Historic Preservation Board of Review and the Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission continue their month of activities with the Rosemary P. Miller Lecture Series. The evening will feature Terry Clapacs, Vice President Emeritus, Indiana University, and co-author of the soon-to-be published book titled, Indiana University: America’s Legacy Campus. His talk is titled, “Indiana University and Limestone: The Tie That Binds.” The lecture will also feature Neil Rippingale, Master Craftsman, Dry Stone Conservancy, who will give a brief introduction to dry stone wall history and construction, the first use of limestone on what is now the IU campus. Mr. Rippingale’s portion of the presentation is funded by the Cornelius O’Brien Lecture Series concerning Historic Preservation administered by the National Council on Public History. Dessert refreshments will be served following the talks.
