“Junk from the Trunk; Star Quality”
May 31 - July 31, 2013 |
Exhibit at Linden Place Features Theatrical and Personal Memorabilia of Legendary Actress, Ethel Barrymore and her Family Dating from 1800-1960’s.
Linden Place Museum is once again hosting “Junk from the Trunk”, a rotating exhibit of DeWolf and Colt family memorabilia, throughout the museum’s 2013 tour season. These displays from the museum’s own collection will introduce visitors to research, artifacts, photographs, and documents, giving a whole new perspective on the history of this fascinating Bristol family.
Linden Place is currently offering an encore presentation of its exhibit "Star Quality", a widely popular exhibit originally offered in August, 2012. This must-see display for any movie or history buff includes photographs and theater memorabilia from Ethel Barrymore’s early days in theater and those of her brothers John and Lionel Barrymore.
Ethel Barrymore was a highly regarded stage actress in New York City and a major Broadway and film performer. Barrymore was an Oscar award winner for best supporting actress. She married Russell Colt, grandson of George DeWolf who built Linden Place, in 1909 and had three children with him.
This special exhibit is included in museum admission and can be viewed through July 31, 2013. Linden Place is open for tours Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am to 4pm, and by appointment. Admission is $8, $6 for seniors and $5 for children.
