The Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society will celebrate the years from 1826 to 1846 when Tuscaloosa served as the Alabama state capitol.
Stagecoach rides to an original 19th century Tavern/Inn; greetings by the first Governors and other political figures as well as early city residents; demonstrations by blacksmiths and printers; children's 19th century games, crafts plus additional activities; food and gardens from way back when, as well as an opportunity to visit and chat with the ghosts of early Tuscaloosa citizens at a local cemetery and much more which will surprise, entertain and educate visitors at Tuscaloosa's annual Heritage Celebration, A CAPITAL CAPITOL.
Visitors including children will be ale to witness life as it was during these transitional years.
