March 27, 2014 |
Illustrated Talk: In celebration of Women’s history, Central Park Conservancy invites you to a series of events exploring the influence of women in shaping Central Park, from the original design inception to today’s management. In this first event in our series, the Conservancy’s official historian and celebrated photographer, Sara Cedar Miller, will discuss how women have played pivotal roles in the vision for Park usage, contributed sculpture and horticultural designs, and, more recently, spearheaded its restoration and continued care. Reception, including light refreshments and book signing, will follow. Free.
When: Thursday, March 27: 6:30 pm
Where: Charles A. Dana Discovery Center, Inside Central Park at 110th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenues
The Women in Central Park series will continue with a follow up lecture, Women, Children, and Play in Central Park on April 24, and tour, Meet the Curator on May 2. |
