Historic House Pop-up Tour
March 30, 2014 |
AHC members are cordially invited to tour the Cicero Hunt Lewis House
Designed by architect David Lewis, this c. 1910 Tudor Revival Dunthorpe home was recently sold and the new owner has generously offered AHC members an opportunity to see it - soon!! Though the home is currently empty, you will enjoy the architecture and learning more about the architect during a presentation by preservation consultant Tim Askin. Arcalus owner Bo Sullivan will show appropriate lighting fixtures and wallpaper for the time period. Anne De Wolf of Arciform LLC will discuss appropriate kitchen and bath designs of the time period. Original home plans will be on display.
Due to limited on-site parking, tours will begin on the hour and conclude promptly to leave time for the next tour group to pull into the circular drive. People arriving via bike, cab, or bus (Tri-Met # 35) are very welcome but still must register for a specific time slot. Note: tour address will be supplied after registration. Please understand that we cannot make carpool arrangements for you.
Call the AHC office at 503-231-7264 to register for your preferred time slot - about 10 cars can fit per tour. There is plenty of room inside the home - you may bring as many people in your car as you wish. You can pay over the phone with a credit card or mail in a check following your reservation. Funds raised support AHC efforts to preserve the historic character and livability of our built environment, and to promote sustainability through the re-use of vintage buildings.
