Dwell on Design San Francisco–Conference
This year’s Dwell on Design Conference will highlight the ingenuity and commitment of people who are building community on a number of fronts, each with an emphasis on modern design, sustainability and smart growth. Speakers and panelists will offer their stories and in-depth knowledge of projects that range from single-family dwellings to multi-family, multi-generational housing to large-scale initiatives in urban planning and community development.
Our Dwell on Design Conference Moderator will be highly acclaimed award-winning journalist John Hockenberry. John is a veteran journalist who has excelled in every facet of the profession, from broadcast radio to news-magazine television to print, as well as being a pioneer in online content. John is a four-time Peabody Award winner, four-time Emmy Award winner and a Distinguished Fellow at the MIT Media Lab.
Joining John will be several exciting speakers and presenters including but not limited to Craig W. Hartman, FAIA – Skidmore, Owings & Merrill; Alice Waters – Chez Panisse, The Edible Schoolyard; Michael McDonough – Award-winning Architect and Industrial Designer; Gwendolyn Wright – Historian and Professor at Columbia University specializing in American Architectural and Urban History; Lorcan O’Herlihy – Award-winning Architect; Kathryn McCamant – Architect, Co-author of Cohousing: A Contemporary Approach to Housing Ourselves; Jennifer Roberts – Author of (3) acclaimed books on green homes: Good Green Kitchens, Redux and Good Green Homes.
We will also focus on expanding networks that make it possible to share information and expertise across the increasingly interdependent arenas of science, technology, and design.
The conference attracts active and influential design community members. This group includes design seekers, well-educated consumers who are passionate about great design as well as design innovators and design influencers such as architects, interior designers, visual designers, landscape architects, and builders.
