The Historic Santa Fe Foundation will be hosting their annual Mother’s Day Tour at the historic grounds of the School for Advanced Research (SAR) on May 11 from 1 to 4 PM at 660 Garcia Street in Santa Fe, NM. Admission is $5 per person at the gate. Street parking is available but limited. For more information please visit our website at www.historicsantafe.org and click on News & Events or call 505-983-2567.
This is a rare opportunity to see the buildings and grounds of the School for Advanced Research and a chance to meet HSFF's new Executive Director, Pete Warzel. Don’t miss it!
“We are delighted that SAR has so kindly offered to share their historic and beautiful grounds,” said HSFF Board Chair Graciela Petronio Tomé. “Ever since sisters Amelia Elizabeth and Martha Root White built the estate known as El Delirio in the 1920s, it has served as a focus for intelligent conversation, lively activities, and the gathering of important area cultural figures.”
Among the sites on the tour:
o The White sisters’ magnificent home, now SAR’s offices
o The Billiard House
o The Gazebo; and
o The SAR Press Building.
Founded in 1961, The Historic Santa Fe Foundation owns, preserves and protects historic properties and resources of Santa Fe and its environs and also

Founded in Santa Fe in 1907 as the School of American Archaeology, the School for Advanced Research, as it is currently known, draws upon its roots in the American Southwest, anthropology and indigenous arts to provide a dynamic environment for the advanced study and communication of knowledge about human culture, history, and creative expression.
