It's Growing Season at the Farmstead
Bloomington Restorations, Inc. invites you to the monthly opening
of the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead on Saturday, May 31st, 2014, from 1-4 p.m. An encore of the plant sale will take place with numerous varieties of native plants for sun, shade and rain garden environments available. Included will be those excellent for attracting butterflies and other pollinators. Milkweed, a critical host plant for Monarchs, will be one of the many plant varieties to choose from. A small collection of flowering landscape plants and shrubs will also be available including day lily cultivars, button bush and a variety of dogwoods. Visitors can also purchase Farmstead Maple Syrup, wander the grounds and edibles garden, and see inside the 1892 main house. The Farmstead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned and maintained by Bloomington Restorations, Inc. It is free and open to the public and is located at 2920 E. Tenth Street in Bloomington. For more information call BRI at (812) 336-0909 or go to www.bloomingtonrestorations.org.
