Fueling Progress: 100 Years of Gas Stations and other Roadside Attractions
June 20, 2014 |
Join the Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation (RVPF) for a dinner lecture celebrating the 100th anniversary of the purpose built gas station and other roadside attractions! Robin Williams, Chairman of the Architectural History Department at Savannah College of Art & Design, will lead us on a virtual tour of America's early roadside architecture. The event will be held at the immaculately restored Carlin’s Amoco Station (c. 1947) located on Roanoke’s historic cruising strip!
Tickets are $50.00 per person and includes a full dinner, open bar, a chance to win a one night stay at Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, VA, and more! Seating is limited so purchase your tickets early!
