2015 N.C. Main Street Conference
March 18-20, 2015 |
Main Street HAS what it Takes!
Community kitchens, gardens and kilns; co-op grocery stores, breweries and retail shops; live performance and movie theaters; an abundance of dining options; daytime activity centers; nighttime entertainment venues and innovative businesses – all contribute to the vitality of downtown districts across the state and nation. Today’s downtowns are active and alive, and public/private partnerships are fueling this economic prosperity.
What does it take to get that kind of investment in downtown? Main Street’s Four-Point Approach® provides the structure that thousands of communities have adopted and the tools and resources to get the job done. Creative approaches to business, authentic community events and activities, mixed-use development, and quality rehab and new construction are getting Main Street communities noticed. What does it take to build a housing component into your downtown? What does it take to attract local, regional and media attention to your community? What does it take to move from an 8-5 economy to a 24-7 neighborhood? Main Street HAS what it takes!
The North Carolina Main Street conference is the state’s largest downtown revitalization event, offering learning sessions, tours, time for downtown exploration and opportunities for networking with downtown professionals, elected officials, volunteers and consultants. Attendees will learn how to use the principles of Main Street® in innovative combinations to open businesses, create activities and improve the physical environment of downtown in order to draw attention to their communities and attract people back to Main Street to live, work and play.
