NCPTT's Southeast Cemetery Monument Conservation Workshop

The National Center for Preservation Technology and Training offers the Southeast Cemetery Monument Conservation Workshop at St. Michaels Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida, October 23-25, 2007. Registration: $695 per person. Nine expert instructors will lead this course.
Learn the essentials for preservation and maintenance of cemetery monuments in this three day hands-on workshop geared to cemetery maintenance and management staff, monument builders, and preservation professionals. Topics will include:
- Condition assessments
- Conservation ethics
- Protection
- Cleaning
- Stone repairs
- Bases and resetting
- Adhesion and reinforced repair
- Ground penetrating radar
- Unmarked grave identification
The workshop will be a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training in a small group round-robin format. The workshop is limited to 32 participants. NCPTT will select applicants for the workshop with preference to those whose job responsibilities are linked to the care of cemeteries. |
