Hearthstone Historic House is the first home in the world lit by Edison's Hydroelectric Central Station. Wisconsin architect, William Waters, designed the house. Built on a bluff above the Fox River, Hearthstone symbolizes Victorian elegance and ingenuity. Hearthstone Historic House opened as a museum in 1986 dedicated to preserving this historic structure, educating the public about early electricity, Fox Valley history, and the Victorian lifestyle. |
