Join us for a special treat, the Holiday Tour at theCastle Green. One of Pasadena’s last historic hotelsis now the private residence of Pasadena designers,musicians, collectors, artists, and others. Thoseinterested in history, creative interior design andcultural heritage will see the original interior ofthis unique Pasadena City Treasure, which is normallyclosed to the public. Walk at your own pace, throughthe corridors and inside twenty individual apartments,all differently interpreted, and many decorated forthe holidays. See the Moorish and Turkish Rooms, theBridge and Penthouse, and painters’ studios of R.Kenton Nelson and Dan Douke.
A 12’ Christmas tree in the Main Salon, decorated with 2,500 bulbs and topped with peacock feathers, willprovide entree for visitors entering the old hotellobby. Vintage stockings from the 40’s and 50’s,antique ornaments, train sets, teddys, childrens booksand more will also be displayed. Enjoy Holiday Sweets,Cider, Chocolate, Tea and Coffee, served throughoutthe day. Madrigals will kick off the season.
The Tour is sponsored by the Friends of the CastleGreen, a nonprofit support group that provides andimplements restoration to the building. All fundsraised are dedicated to the landmark building.

The Castle Green is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (individually and as a contributing building to the Old Pasadena Historic District), the California State Register and is a City of Pasadena Historic Treasure, the highest designation is a city of incredible architecture. Due to the need of restoration of this historic site, the Friends of the Castle Green was formed.
The Friends of the Castle Green is a California 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Castle Green. To raise money for this task, the Friends hold two tours of the building per year, the first Sunday in June and the first Sunday in December. The Friends also accept donations for specific restoration projects. Currently, the Friends are targeting the goal of $80,000 to create replica roof tiles to install on the east-facing Veranda, overlooking the Castle Green gardens.
