Preservation Thursday: Downhill Adventurers: The Pioneers Behind Black Hills Skiing
February 4, 2016 |
Local historian, Paul Higbee, will take a look into the successful effort, in the 1930s, to create a downhill skiing venue at Terry Peak. Ski team competitions, an ongoing quest for safer ski bindings, the creation of ski jumps and a team of outstanding instructors were all part of the snowy adventure. Days of ‘76 Museum; 12:00 p.m.; admission by donation.
