February 25, 2016
“New Orleans - Life and Death in the Big Easy” A Lecture By Cheryl Gerber
Save Our Cemeteries announced today that it will begin its 2016 lecture series with a lecture from journalist and documentary photographer Cheryl Gerber. Gerber’s lecture will focus on death rituals and burial customs in New Orleans, which is the focus of her recently published book: “New Orleans – Life and Death in the Big Easy”. Gerber’s lecture will begin at 6:30 pm, on February, 25, 2016 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA.

“We are excited to have Cheryl Gerber as our first speaker for our 2016 lecture series” states Amanda Walker, Executive Director at Save Our Cemeteries. Ms. Walker continues, “Cheryl’s natural writing ability and talent for photography, coupled with her knowledge of New Orleans and its history and culture is a perfect match for our lecture series. We are proud to have her as our first speaker of 2016.”

Gerber will also have a book signing for her recently released book, “New Orleans – Life and Death in the Big Easy” immediately following her lecture. Light refreshments will also be served. The event is free and open to the public.
