Tour John Yeon's Modernism Masterpiece

Celebrated modernist architect John Yeon was a 26-year-old college dropout when he designed a Southwest Portland home for lumber baron and family friend Aubrey Watzek in 1937.
You can tour the Aubrey Watzek House, Portland's only National Historic Landmark residence, from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. on Sundays, Feb. 28 and March 27.
The University of Oregon John Yeon Center for Architecture and the Landscape offers monthly tours and time on the property to draw, photograph and enjoy Yeon's Northwest Modernism masterpiece.
Admission is $20-$30, based on a sliding scale and Yeon Center members and students are free. Reserve your spot with an email to johnyeoncenter@uoregon.edu.
