Address: 1223 NE 108th St, Seattle, WA 98125
Built in 1952, the residence was designed by architect Alfred Simonson for original owner Clark Stuempges. Sited on two large lots along Thornton Creek, the property serves as a sanctuary for migratory herons.
This mid-century modern residence and grounds had seen better days and were in a state of near abandonment when the property was purchased in Winter 2014-2015 by Heidi Schor and Paul Damen of House Healers. They saved the house and kept the two lots intact, restoring original features and removing insensitive alterations. House Healers embraced the good bones and architectural significance of the house while enhancing the property to contemporary living standards.
We invite you to view this amazing property and learn about the renovation.
Docomomo WEWA thanks the EK Group for co-sponsoring this event. Special thanks go Ms. Schor and Mr. Damen for opening up the home for this public tour. The property recently sold. View website for the property here.
Hope to see you at the event!
