Indiana Bicentennial Barn Quilt comes to Monroe County
March 12, 2016 |
Bloomington Restorations, Inc., in partnership with the Indiana Barn Foundation, invites you to the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead to see the Indiana Bicentennial Barn Quilt. The quilt is an Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project depicting a barn from each of Indiana’s 92 counties. The dairy barn at the farmstead represents Monroe County in a quilt square designed and completed by Linda Long of Greene County. From March 14 -19 the quilt will be on display at the Monroe County History Center, and from March 21-25 it will be at the Monroe County Courthouse. The quilt will return to the Hinkle-Garton Farmstead for the site’s monthly museum open day on March 26 from 1-4 p.m. The Farmstead is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned and maintained by Bloomington Restorations, Inc.
