Van "Go" Bus Tour

June 23, 2016
Van "Go" Bus Tour
Bristol Art Museum and Linden Place Mansion continue to collaborate on their successful monthly “Van-Go” Museum Trips. Enjoy an opportunity to sit back, relax and depart from Bristol for door-door service to a museum.  A luxury coach is used, with restroom facilities on board, for a comfortable ride. The trip cost is $40 per person plus the cost of museum admission.

On Thursday, June 23rd, participants have the opportunity to visit the Institute
of Contemporary Art in Boston. Founded in 1936 as a sister institution to New York’s MoMA, the ICA presents contemporary art in all media—visual arts, performance, film, video, and literature. The collection is particularly strong in art by women, with specific depth in work by Louise Bourgeois, Mona Hatoum, Nan Goldin, Doris Salcedo, and Cindy Sherman.

Following the visit to ICA, tour goers will head outdoors to enjoy the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, a mile-and-a-half of contemporary parks in the heart of Boston. When the “Big Dig” relocated the elevated highway underground, the Greenway was created with a linear series of parks and gardens that reconnected some of Boston’s oldest, most diverse, and vibrant neighborhoods.

The bus departs from the municipal parking lot on Thames Street across from the Robin Rug building at 9am and returns at 4pm. To register, please send checks to Bristol Art Museum, P.O. Box 42, Bristol RI. 02809. Please include name, address, email, telephone and emergency contact number. Group rate museum admission of $13 will be collected, in cash only, on the bus.

For questions, please contact Jane Lavender at janelavender@verizon.net or 781-929-4325.
