Wright in Idaho
September 10-11, 2016 |
Wright's only building in Idaho, a small studio designed in 1952 for artist Archie Teater, sits on a bluff overlooking the Snake River an hour and a half from the popular resort town of Sun Valley in Bliss, Idaho. An intimate space built for creative work on a spectacular natural site, Teater's Knoll is a rugged native stone building laid out on a diamond unit, with a triangular outdoor terrace under a soaring roof. On Saturday, Sept. 10, owner Henry Whiting II will discuss the history and restoration of this special site on a private tour before an elegant multi-course dinner with fine wines.
The next day, we'll take a half-day tour into Idaho's beautiful Sun Valley region to experience a few examples of its outstanding architecture.
