Exciting News! Flamingo Park Neighborhood Association presents its 16th Annual Historic Holiday Home Tour on Sunday, December 9, 2007. The tour will begin at 4 o’clock P.M. at the 700 block of Claremore Drive. Take a stroll down our streets and memory lane as we begin the holiday season. This year’s tour will include 10 beautiful homes that demonstrate a variety of architecture and styles that represent our great neighborhood, all decorated to kick off the holiday season. Trolleys will be available throughout the evening along the walking route, but don’t forget to wear walking shoes. We also ask in kind that guests not wear high heels, as they mar our beautiful wood floors.
Our old houses have many stories to tell. They are witness to a time when craftsmanship, individuality - even quirkiness - were prized. Curators of the tastes and customs of our parents’ and grandparents’ generations, they resonate with the lives lived within their walls. Established in 1921 during Florida’s Boom Era, Flamingo Park enjoys a variety of architectural styles, including Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Mission, on one of the highest points of land in Southeast Florida. Pioneers in revitalization and restoration, Flamingo Park residents with their eclectic mix of backgrounds, lifestyles and professions delight in sharing their tales and opening their doors for all to enjoy.
Sample delectable delights, wine and champagne while enjoying the holiday cheer! A dessert reception and candlelight ceremony at the Hospitality Tent will be held at 8p.m. to close the evening.
Check-in begins at four o’clock, rain or shine. All tickets must be picked up at the Hospitality Tent located on the 700 block of Claremore Drive.
