Historic Garden Week in Virginia
April 19-27, 2008 |
Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2008, Historic Garden Week in Virginia is the oldest and largest house and garden tour program in the nation, known as "America's Largest Open House." More than 30 tours are sponsored across the state on different days of the week by member clubs of The Garden Club of Virginia, to benefit historic restoration. The gardens and landscapes of some of Virginia's most important historic figures have been restored over the last seven decades with funding from Historic Garden Week tours, including the properties of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Woodrow Wilson, Robert E. Lee, Patrick Henry, George Mason and many others. For information about this year's Historic Garden Week tours, please access www.VAGardenweek.org.
