Collaborate for A Cause

October 25-27, 2017
Collaborate for A Cause
The historic Lancaster Cemetery is bringing good people and grave matters together on October 25-27, 2017!

Like many graveyards, Lancaster Cemetery relies on volunteers to assist with beautification, cleanup, and grave marker repairs. Now, through a mutually beneficial project, volunteers and preservation specialists will have the opportunity to share their time, talent, and skills and make a difference at Lancaster Cemetery. Under the direction of conservator Robert Mosko of Hanover, PA, pre-registered volunteers will receive free hands-on training in memorial restoration. Robert has worked in more than 78 cemeteries across the country--restoring, repairing, preserving, and conserving more than 7,000 gravestones and monuments. This 3-day collaboration (8:00 am to 4:00 pm; Lancaster Cemetery, 205 E. Lemon St., Lancaster, PA) will include:
  • Using D/2 Biological Solution to clean discoloration and soiling caused by organic growth.
  • Learning how to repair loose masonry joints and cracks.
  • Working with Lithomex to patch broken masonry details.
  • Leveling the foundation of an unstable or out of plumb grave marker.
  • Resetting and returning a headstone to its upright position.
Giving back is an important value of our culture. So, with that in mind, the LimeWorks.us Graveyard Kit is being offered to pre-registered volunteers at the reduced price of $350 (regularly $400 plus shipping). The Graveyard Kit includes a combination of masonry restoration materials and tools for use at this event and afterwards. The LimeWorks.us technical install team will also be on site to guide participants in the use of a selection of the products in the Graveyard Kit.

Through this collaboration, we're able to foster stewardship and service in support of our cultural heritage. Enthusiasts of all skill levels are encouraged to volunteer.

Work with great materials and get a little help from your friends at LimeWorks.us too! Exclusive offers on LimeWorks.us products are available for pre-registered volunteers.

Call Craftwork Training Center at 215-536-1776 and mention Collaborate for A Cause to pre-register for the volunteer training days. Remember to ask about our special offer for the LimeWorks.us Graveyard Kit and see what we can save together!
