Annual Christmas Walk in the Historic Frank House

December 1-10, 2007
Annual Christmas Walk in the Historic Frank House

Visit Historic Frank House while it is dressed in its finest Victorian Holiday decor.

The Frank House Christmas Walk is an annual fund-raiser for the house.  The G.W. Frank family constructed the mansion in 1889 to amaze and entice investors.  Its beauty will amaze you, too, and we invite you to join in the effort on behalf of this American treasure. The Franks were instrumental in the national abolitionist movement and westward development.  The mansion is a three-story, R.H. Richardsonian shingle style Romanesque mansion made of Colorado sandstone and contains six of its ten original fireplaces, English golden oak paneling, hand carved woodwork and a 5’x 10’ Tiffany window.  It was wired for electricity during construction, a first west of the Mississippi, and had indoor plumbing, two bathrooms, steam heat, built-in closets and servants’quarters.  The Frank House is owned by the University of Nebraska at Kearney and listed on the National Register ofHistoric Places.
