November 4, 2017 |
Justus Krumbein (1847-1907), a German immigrant, was one of Oregon's most notable 19th century architects. During his three-decade career he designed the second State Capitol and some of Portland's most elaborate commercial and residential architecture. The exhibit Parting Shots: Minor White's Images of Portland 1938-1942, at the Architectural Heritage Center, showcases Krumbein's work with the famous Kamm and Ladd Blocks.
