Workshop: Lithomex Basics

November 17, 2017
Workshop: Lithomex Basics
Built On Tradition
Bring new life to damaged stone and brick with Lithomex patch repair material!

Workshop MAS-05: Lithomex Basics
Friday, Nov. 17, 2017; 8:00 am to noon.
Craftwork Training Center, 3145 State Rd., Telford, PA

Lithomex is a distinctive lime-based mortar designed specifically to repair or simulate brick, stone, and terracotta surfaces. Unlike other products that trap moisture in the host stonework, Lithomex is flexible (with a very high modulus of elasticity), porous, breathable, and allows water vapor to pass through the masonry for long-lasting repairs. When applied by skilled craftsmen, it can match the color and texture of existing stone and brick while maintaining similar thermal expansion and weathering characteristics of the host material. Lithomex may be worked, tooled, dressed, and finished with traditional masonry tools, trowel edges, sculpting tools, sanding blocks, tungsten carbide abrasive sheet, and scratch floats.

Discover the basic Lithomex techniques to achieve state-of-the-art, convincing, and durable masonry surface repairs.
  • Understand the natural properties and benefits of Lithomex.
  • Know how to prepare the substrate to be repaired.
  • Learn how to mix and apply Lithomex to simulate the surrounding masonry.
  • Review techniques to finish or tool the Lithomex surface.
Book Workshop MAS-05 (Nov. 17) online at https://www.shoplimeworks.us/store/p494/MAS-05 or call 215-536-1776 to register by phone.
