Join the Waterville Historical Society on May 10, 2018 at 5:30pm as Cpt. Jonathan Bratten will be talking to us about Waterville's National Guard in the First World War

Captain Jonathan Bratten is the Command Historian for the Maine National Guard. In this capacity, he has produced multiple articles on the history of Maine's soldiers, appearing in such publications as 'The Washington Post,' 'On Point: the Journal of Army History,' and 'Army Magazine.' He has also appeared in the Smithsonian Channel documentary, 'Americans Underground: Secret Cities of World War I.' Additionally, Jonathan is an officer in the Maine National Guard and a veteran of Afghanistan. He and his wife live in Portland, Maine.
